What you need to know about the Fiat Chrysler Recall
Some Fiat Chrysler Jeep Commander and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles may experience an unintended change in the position of the ignition switch while driving. This can result in loss of engine power, power steering, and braking assist, and even a malfunction of the seat belt system. The defects have led to catastrophic injuries or deaths as a result of the engine turning off during operation of the vehicle.
The vehicles affected by this recall are 2005 through 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2006 through 2007 Jeep Commander. Fiat Chrysler stated that its dealers would repair these vehicles free of charge. If you drive one of these vehicles, you need to contact a local Fiat Chrysler (Jeep) dealer immediately for a free fix.
